Shakib to lead Bangladesh against Ireland
The iconic cricketer and number one all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan will lead Bangladesh cricket team against Ireland cricket team in the opening match of tri-nation series. Bangladesh ODI captain Mashrafe Mortaza is going to miss the match against Ireland on 12 May due to his one match suspension.
Hence, Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has decided to give the responsibility of captaincy on Shakib Al Hasan’s shoulder.
It is to inform that Mashrafe Mortaza has been banned by International Cricket Council for slow-over rating. As a result, he will miss the opening match of tri – nation series against Ireland. After that he will again back in his charge with the match against Ireland.
To be noted, Bangladesh will play at least four matches in the tri – nation series before the kick off of ICC Champions Trophy 2017. After the opening match of the series against Ireland, Tigers will take on New Zealand on 17 May. Two days later on 19 May, they will face Ireland one more time in the tournament. Mashrafe and his co will play their fourth match of the tournament on 24 May against the Kiwis.
